Note Values & Rhythm Reading
Students will identify quarter notes, eighth notes, and half notes, count their beats, and read simple rhythm patterns in 4/4 time.
📘
What is Rhythm?
Rhythm is the pattern of long and short sounds in music! Just like your heartbeat keeps a steady beat, music has a steady beat too. We can tap, clap, or stomp to the beat. Today we will learn special note symbols that tell us how long to hold each sound.
Example
Tap your knee 4 times slowly and evenly: tap... tap... tap... tap. That steady tapping is the BEAT!
